Bury Broncos made the journey to Wigan hoping to end the day on top of the league.
Broncos opened the scoring through Warren Bluer, with full-back Blake Roberts adding the conversion.
Roberts extended Bury’s lead, cutting inside to put the ball down for another four points. The full-back converted his own try.
Minutes later, stand-off Sam Fairhurst scooted from 10 yards out to score with Roberts again adding the extras.
The Bulldogs were able to get themselves on the scoresheet just before half time. The conversion was successful and the Broncos led 18-6 at the break.
The second half started positively for the Broncos with Anthony Garside feeding his brother Mike, who put in a man-of-the-match performance. He fooled the Bulldogs’ defence to power home for another four points, with the two points added once more.
The Bulldogs fought back with an unconverted try to take the score to 24-10.
Rick Brogan showed off his footwork to put the Broncos further ahead before left-centre Charlie Delaume dived over in the corner.
Roberts continued his impressive kicking by converting both tries as the Broncos extended their lead to 36-10.
However, as the Broncos took their foot off the gas, the Bulldogs took full advantage with the final try of the game, which was again converted.
