Bury Broncos Under-7s entertained Hindley in a historic fixture at Park Lane on Sunday.
With fantastic support, the Broncos took to the field for their first home game in the North West Counties League and ran out convincing winners.
The first half saw the Broncos pick up where they left off the previous week, scoring three tries to their opponents one. Once again Billy H (nicknamed Bronco Bill) scored a brace of tries, weaving through the Hindley line at will. Archie H followed a couple of excellent drives with a first ever try in only his second game for the club.
The Broncos’ defensive line also held firm on more than one occasion to keep Hindley at bay.
The second half took a similar pattern to the first as the teams exchanged tries. Bronco Bill added two further tries, taking his tally in the game to four and for the season to seven, and Hindley replied with two of there own, making the final score 5-3 to the Broncos. On Sunday, the u7s travel to Wigan St Patricks, who are yet to lose this season. Bury Broncos: Daniel L (captain), Nathan W, Sam S, Billy H, Archie H, Alfie B, Jo M, Fintan M and Matt J. Subs (but played for Hindley in the first half, then Broncos in the second half): Matt K, Jack H, Eoin C.
