Bury skipper Tom Moore is set to depart Gigg Lane this summer, the club has confirmed.
The defender joined the Shakers from Bootle last October and was soon handed the armband following a vote among players and staff.
He was a key figure in the backline as Dave McNabb’s side reached the play-off final, narrowly missing out on promotion.
A statement read: “Captain Tom Moore has informed the club of his intention to move on this summer.
“We wish him well in his future move. Always welcome back at Gigg, Tom.”
In more positive news, fan favourites Gaz Peet and Connor Comber will be back in BL9 next season.
Bury's retained list last month revealed that the duo were among a group of players in discussions over new deals.
The squad is taking shape for the new season, with a plethora of signings arriving at Gigg Lane over the past few days including former Celtic defender Efe Ambrose.
