Bury have announced a trio of new signings following another busy day at Gigg Lane.
Efe Ambrose, Bobby Carroll and Morgan Homson-Smith will all be playing for the Shakers next season.
Ambrose arrives in BL9 after leaving Scottish club Queen of the South. The 35-year-old centre-back previously had a five-year spell at Celtic, winning four Premiership titles during his time with the Hoops.
The Nigerian has also represented his country 51 times, and Dave McNabb is excited about the impact he will have on the squad.
“He is a ball playing centre-half with unbelievable pedigree and huge experience, with over 50 international caps and over 400 professional appearances," McNabb told the club website.
"Efe is a great character and will certainly help some of the younger players in the squad. It’s a brilliant signing for the club and one I hope will excite the fans."
Meanwhile, midfielder Carroll arrives at Gigg Lane from Workington. The 22-year-old started out at Everton and also had a spell at Chorley in National League North.
McNabb added: “Bobby is a central midfielder who is superb on the ball and comfortable receiving the ball in any situation, always looking to play forward and start attacks.
"He has a great engine and brilliant range of passing. He reads the game unbelievably well and has massive potential to really push on.”
Finally, versatile wideman Homson-Smith joins from Longridge. He has also played in National League North with Southport and went on to have stints at FC United of Manchester, City of Liverpool and Bootle.
“Morgan is a masterful technician capable of playing in midfield or anywhere behind the striker," McNabb explained. "He has an unbelievable left foot, his movement, vision and range of passing is a joy to behold.
"I think he’s matured as a player massively over the last year or two and that will allow him to fulfil his huge potential. He's a player whose ability should be playing at a much higher level.”
