Bury have completed their fourth signing of the summer as left-back Will Calligan arrives from Stockport Town.
Calligan, who can also play as a winger, came through the youth ranks at Barnsley before heading to Bradford Park Avenue.
Last season, the 22-year-old was part of the Stockport Town team that won promotion from NWCFL Division One North and played against the Shakers in a mid-season friendly.
Manager Dave McNabb is pleased to have added the youngster to his squad as preparations continue for next season.
He told the club website: “Will is an explosive left sided player capable of playing left-back, wing-back or left wing.
“He is quick, direct and loves to make lung bursting runs down the left hand side. His delivery from wide areas is one of his main assets. He is aggressive defensively and brilliant defending one-v-one.”
Bury have already brought Ruben Jerome, Iyrwah Gooden and Tom Stewart to Gigg Lane as they aim to build on last season’s penalty shoot-out heartbreak against Wythenshawe Town in the play-off final.
