Bury have announced the signing of goalkeeper Tom Stewart from Lancaster City.
Stewart has played for the likes of Ramsbottom United, Stalybridge Celtic and Radcliffe during his 10-year career to date.
The 28-year-old also made one appearance for Bury AFC as emergency cover in 2022.
Manager Dave McNabb told the club website: “Tom is an imposing goalkeeper at 6’5. He has unbelievable reactions for his size and is a fantastic shot stopper.
"He is quick off his line and comfortable sweeping the back line. He is very commanding and will always help his defence by claiming crosses into the box from open play or set pieces.”
Harry Wright played 29 times between the sticks last term as the Shakers narrowly missed out on promotion following penalty shoot-out heartbreak against Wythenshawe Town in the play-off final.
Wright had been offered fresh terms to remain at Gigg Lane but decided to move onto a new challenge, and McNabb has now bolstered his goalkeeping department ahead of the upcoming season.
Stewart becomes the third signing of the summer after Ruben Jerome and Iyrwah Gooden arrived from Emley AFC.
