BENITO Lowe, Harry Wright and Oli Jepson have all departed Bury after the club released it’s retained list.
Keeper Wright and defender Jepson were mainstays of the Shakers promotion push - both playing 29 times - as they missed out to Wythenshawe Town in a penalty shoot-out in the play-off final.
Talented forward Lowe featured in 18 games, scoring 16 goals in an injury-hit campaign and spent time at Stalybridge Celtic towards the end of the season to get more game time.
All three were offered contracts to remain at Gigg Lane but all three decided to move on - with Lowe having already signed for NPL West side Avro earlier this week.
Also departing the club are Jacob Holland-Wilkinson, Arthur Lomax-Jones, Joe Maguire, Dean Pinnington and Anton Smith.
Alex Cherera, Sam Couglan and Max Harrop have all penned new deals for the 2024/25 campaign with Aaron Morris, Tom Moore, Gaz Peet, Andy Scarisbrick, Charlie Doyle, Declan Daniels, Billy Reeves, Connor Comber and Andy Briggs currently in discussions with the club as manager Dave McNabb looks to shape his squad for next season.
Many of the departing players took to social media to express their thanks to the club.
“Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Bury FC and especially the fans who turned up week in week out with so much noise,” said Wright.
“Please bring that for the lads next season. From the ups and the downs I can truly say I have loved putting a Bury shirt on.
Holland-Wilkinson, who played 10 times last season, said he ‘loved ever minute’ of his stay at Gigg Lane.
“Just wanted to say thank you to everyone associated with Bury for the last few months,” he said. From my hat-trick at Skem to Isle of Man away to the play-off final penalties, I’ve loved every minute.”
Lomax-Jones, who featured in nine games, also wished the club all the best for the future while Pinnington - who started four times for the Shakers - said he is returning to play of the FC Isle of Man.
The Shakers pre-season campaign will begin at Atherton LR on Saturday, July 6 before a trip to Ashton Town on Tuesday, July 9.
Bury have two further away friendlies - at Hanley Town (Saturday, July 13) and Nantwich Town (Tuesday, July 16) - with more fixtures to be announced.
Meanwhile, the club held it’s end of season awards event at Gigg Lane for his senior and junior teams.
Gaz Peet was named player of the season and fans player of the season while Moore and Scarisbrick were joint players player of the season.
