RAMSBOTTOM United booked their place in the second round but not without a scare as they almost threw away a three-goal advantage.
Anthony Johnson, who was later sent off, headed home the opener for Rammy on 35 minutes and the lead was extended on the stroke of half time when Carl Lomax glanced his header into the top corner.
A penalty won by Matt Ellis, who forced Luker to handle in the box, was converted by John Robinson — his first strike for the club. But Nelson pulled one back through Higgins with 15 minutes to go and two minutes later it was 3-2 when Daniel Finch fired home from close range. However, United held on for the victory.
