WALSHAW kicked off with a comprehensive victory which the scoreline did not do justice to.
Mark Westhead and Lee Gaskell almost put the Bury side ahead in the Peak District before they took the lead in spectacular fashion, Westhead hooking a spectacular effort from 35 yards over the Chapel keeper.
The visitors quickly doubled their lead when great interplay from Westhead and Jamie Treanor freed Russ Brierley who curled an effort past the home keeper.
Walshaw should have killed off the home side when they created a succession of chances but failed to take them.
On 65 minutes Craig Duerden and the home keeper were both sent off for an aggressive clash.
Walshaw were rarely threatened, with the centre half pairing of David Davies and the impressive Dan Waltham proving dominant.
Walshaw conceded a goal with the last kick of the game, a speculative effort that looped over Maxim.
Walshaw travel to Dukinfield on Saturday, kick off 2pm , and on Tuesday they travel to neighbours Elton Vale, kick off 6.30pm.
