BURY Grammar School Old Boys eased into the last 16 of the Lancashire FA Cup after a straightforward fixture against Water FC. Spencer Woods’ header from 10 yards opened the scoring after 20 minutes, when Simon Curtis’ right-wing cross finished off a flowing move from defence to attack.
Gaz Andrews made it 2-0 soon after with a superly taken volley from an acute angle, and Woods made it 3-0 before half time when he side-footed the ball into the corner of the net from a Ehsan Moazzezi through-ball.
Bury’s tempo dropped somewhat in the second half but they continued to dominate for the majority of the game. Moazzezi made it 4-0 when he was played through on goal, he finished well when one-on-one with the keeper. Water scored a late consolation goal with minutes remaining on the clock.
GSOB are back in league action this week as they take on rivals Rochdale Street Clements, 2pm kick-off at Buckley Wells on Saturday.
