Tottington progressed into the last 16 of the Lancashire FA Amateur Cup by edging out Burnley Belvedere in the third round.
On a heavy pitch, the Burnley side drew first blood with a goal scored from distance from a free kick after 15 minutes and they maintained their advantage for the rest of the first half.
A disputed penalty for handball on 50 minutes scored by Lewis Proudfoot levelled the scores for Tottington but Burnley were again back in front 10 minutes later when they took advantage of poor defending.
With Tottington building up steam they began to create chances and levelled again through Ross Buckley with 70 minutes on the clock.
Totty took the lead from the spot on 75 minutes through Damion Keegan, as a result of another contested decision after Phil Keefe was adjudged to have been fouled, and Keefe eased the nerves further five minutes later with a strike from 25 yards that was worthy of winning the tie.
Burnley reduced the arrears on 85 minutes as they sprang the offside trap, but it was an isolated attack and Tottington just about deserved to go through.
Tottingham, who now have two consecutive home league games with Horwich Victoria first up this Saturday (KO 2pm), have been drawn away to Little Lever in the fourth round of the LFA Cup.
