Tottington travelled to Southport to take on fellow promoted side Hesketh in the Lancashire Amateur League Premier and, not for the first time this season, conceded an early goal on five minutes.
A headed equaliser was scored by Damion Keegan from a corner on 25 minutes but Tottington were still struggling to find rhythm. The half time team talk seemed to have the desired effect and Totty began to dominate, scoring their second and third through Tom Mawsdley on 60 and 70 minutes, with the miss of the season in between.
Lewis Proudfoot put daylight between the teams with a sweet left foot stike from a free kick on 85 minutes to record Totty’s first points since mid-September.
Tottington are in LFA cup action on Saturday with a home tie against East Lancs league side Burnley Belvedere. Kick off is 1.30pm.
