PRESTWICH A took full advantage of an under- strength Little Lever when they beat them 9-1 at home.
George Jones made a welcome return for Prestwich and showed he had lost none of his touch to win his three along with Dave Cheetham. Radcliffe confirmed their second place in the division when they beat Adelphi 10-0 at home.
Ramsbottom C beat Seedfield A 6-4 at home with Martin Wyatt unbeaten for the home team.
In Divsion Two Prestwich D took on their E team and drew with all players contributing to the score. ELPM A beat Stand 7-3 at home. John Dawes was the unbeaten player on the night for the home team.
Prestwich C beat Carlton Club B 8-2 at home which secured their runners-up spot to their B team and promotion to the top division.
Seedfield D drew at home to Elton Vale Sports Club in Division Three. Frank Carse won two for the home team.
Holmar A inflicted a 9-1 beating at the home of Maccabi B. Melvyne Levene won the sole set for Maccabi when he beat Ian McPherson. David Fletcher and Phil Wardle were unbeaten for Holmar.
Holmar C lost 6-4 at home to Maccabi D. Buz Cohen for Maccabi was the unbeaten player on the night, Sheldon Lee won two and Aubrey Huller one.
Shawfield B beat Seedfield C 6-4 at home and Wayne Ellis won his three for the home team, Dave Stubbington two and they won the doubles.
ELPM B drew at home with Hilton YMCA where Alan Cowley was unbeaten for the visitors. He inflicted a rare defeat on Mark Willmore, who despite that sneaked the top 10 medal by one point from Graham Daniels of Elton TT. ELPM’s draw sealed their runners-up spot to Elton.
Carlton Club C just beat Prestwich F 6-4 in Division Four in a tight match where four sets went the full distance.
This win secures their promotion to the third division. Steve Evans was unbeaten for Carlton.
Bury Grammar School Old Boys A lost 6-4 to Shawfield C but Barry Warburton comfortably took the top 10 medal by nine wins clear of Alistair Wakefield of Prestwich.
Shawfield E lost 7-3 to Ramsbottom D as Roger Whewell and Martin Ormsby for Ramsbottom were unbeaten.
In Division Five Seedfield F lost 6-4 to Bury Grammar School Old Boys B and it was Adam Simpson who was unbeaten for the home team, including an eight in the fifth win against John Greenhalgh.
Shawfield G beat Seedfield G where the visitors’ only win was against James Aadahl at 10 in the fourth. Dean Walmersley and Josh Fallows were unbeaten for the home team.
