DIVISION One high-flyers Little Lever registered a fine 9-1 win over Carlton A with Ron Durose, Steve McNicholas and Phil Riley each unbeaten.
Burning Desire won a close match 6-4 against St Philips A. All three Burning Desire players, Ben Armstrong, Steve Barber and Andy Kaye, won two sets, while Denis Collier recorded two victories for St Philips.
In Division Two, Prestwich E and Seedfield B played out a hard fought draw with six sets going to a fifth game. Andy Hamilton won three for Seedfield with Barrie Fleet winning two for Prestwich and all other players winning one.
The top two clashed with Prestwich C emerging as 6-4 winners against Polish Catholic Club. Eddie Kalinowski beat Top Ten leader, Eddie Simon at 11-9 in the fifth. Both players notched up two wins with Ian Byrne and Peader McKinstry also picking up two wins.
St Philips B enjoyed a resounding 8-2 win against Maccabi A. The results included a first defeat of the season for Stuart Landis of Maccabi – at the hands of Gareth Palmer who went on to notch up three wins.
Both Dave Holden and John Biggins gave Palmer valuable support with two wins each.
Carlton B ran out 7-3 winners against Prestwich D with Mark Reading winning three for the victors.
Both Jim Bloomfield (Carlton) and Alex Waring (Prestwich) won two.
Frank Carse and Pete Ingham each won their three and Alan Carse picked up two as Seedfield C recorded a 9-1 against Hilton YMCA in Division Three.
Terry Shaw won three for Shawfield A against Elton SC but it was not enough for his side as they went down 6-4.
Keith Mills and Jim Bollard each won two for Elton along with a crucial doubles victory.
St Sebastians beat Holmar A 6-4 with Dave Hargreaves winning three. With Dave Fletcher winning two for Holmar and team-mates, Phil Wardle and Ian McPherson, both beating Alan Scholes, two wins for Mark Stevens, plus a doubles victory, gave St Sebastians the edge.
In a match where all players won at least once, Shawfield B were indebted to Wayne Ellis, who claimed three wins, and Dave Stubbington, who notched two, for their 7-3 success.
In Division Four, Maccabi D and Shawfield C drew with Ashley Ingham of Shawfield recording a fine win in the last set of the evening to secure his side the draw. This was Ingham’s third win to offset two wins each for Maccabi by Buz Cohen and Marc Sheldon.
Shawfield E also drew with Seedfield E. Jonathan Fitton (Seedfield) won his three with his team-mate Ian McKenzie adding two. Lauren Brassington won two for Shawfield.
Prestwich F got back to winning ways with an 8-2 win over Holmar C. Ian Connell was unbeaten with Rod Hughes and Alistair Wakefield each adding two. Trevor Candler and Jack Berry each won one for Holmar.
Maccabi C secured a 7-3 win at Shawfield D. Robert Clayton won three, Frank Sheldon won two and reserve Alan Nesbitt took one for Maccabi. Alistdair MacIver, with two, and Barry Collier, with one ,were the winners for Shawfield.
