BURY Athletic Camp spent the last week of the summer holidays seeking to unearth the next Jess Ennis or Mo Farah.
Inspired by the Olympic Games, more than 40 children attended a week long Star:Track event where they were introduced to a range of athletics events and disciplines. At the end of the week, everyone attending got the chance to test their newfound skills and talents in a short competition.
Joanne Brown, Bury Athletic Club’s under-11 coach and camp organiser said: “Star:Track is famous for discovering Jessica Ennis. It was great to see so many children learning new skills and having fun. And there was lots of talent on show, so maybe we have found the next Jess Ennis, Mo Farah or Greg Rutherford.”
Bury AC trains every Tuesday and Thursday (7-8pm) at the track on Market Street.
