THE top of the Bury District Open League A Section is all square with two games to go.
Tottington D overcame a resilient Elton Lib A to draw level with leaders Radcliffe Central A, who lost at home to Buchanan’s A.
Captain Phil Heaton produced a fine display for Tottington, securing the match in the final frame.
Danny Tiddy scored 100 in the opener for Central A, before good displays from the visitors’ Mick Hamer and Mick Holleran won it.
The B Section’s top two – Bury Snooker B and Salisbury Con B – remain on course for promotion, despite Salisbury’s narrow defeat at Radcliffe Central D. The match went to the final frame, before Andy Rogers stole the show for Central.
Bury Snooker B remain top after a 7-2 win at Tottington A. The final places could well be decided next week when Bury entertain Salisbury.
Seedfield A sealed a dramatic victory at Buchanan’s B on the final black, Danny Morgan holding his nerve.
In the C Section, fourth-placed Walshaw blew the promotion race wide open with a win at second-placed Radcliffe Central C. Just four points separate the top four teams going into the final two rounds of matches.
