BURY Snooker D were the only side to make it into all three cup semi-finals after a busy week of team knockout competition in the Bury and District Open Snooker League.
They won all three frames against Stanley in the Jim Brooks Pairs, taking the tie by 69 points. Bury Snooker D then got the better of Huntley B in the four-man Arthur Dykes Cup, thanks mainly to a 90-40 win for Dean Jones in the third frame of the tie.
Tottington Con D were unlucky victims as Bury made it three out of three in the five-man John Spencer Cup. Sal Amin clinched the deciding frame 44-33 on the black, to make it 3-2.
Radcliffe Central A were not too far behind, winning both the cup matches they played in convincing style. They beat Huntley A in the Arthur Dykes Cup and Fishpool in the John Spencer Cup without dropping a frame.
Fishpool had a change of fortune, beating Radcliffe Central B in the pairs. The league champions looked in danger of losing the match, but Andy Rhodes potted the pink and black to clinch the win in a thrilling final frame.
Central B also made a semi-final, beating Buchanans B 3-0 in the John Spencer Cup. Elton Lib C joined them thanks to an easy 3-0 win against Bury Bridge.
Tottington D and Buchanans B complete the semi-finalists in the pairs competition after wins over Elton Lib A and Salisbury B, respectively.
Huntley C are through to the semi-finals of the Arthur Dykes Cup after winning all four frames at Seedfield Bowling Club.
