SALISBURY B’s Jason Smith won a thrilling black-ball match at Elton Lib B to progress to the third round of the Arthur Dykes knockout.
Smith grabbed the last frame 64-50 to see Salisbury home.
Another close encounter was contested at Bury Snooker were the D team got the better of Tottington D. The snooker club won all 4 frames but only had a 24-point winning margin at the end of the night.
Radcliffe Central A proved far too strong for Whitefield B. Paul Gallagher got the Radcliffe team off to a flying start with a convincing 87-20 win but the star performance came from Danny Tiddy who made a nice break of 58 as the hosts won 295-104.
Radcliffe Central D won a close match at Salsibury A as Andrew Higginson won the final frame 54-21 to grab victory by 32 chalks.
Central C, on the other hand, suffered a shock defeat when they were well beaten by Huntley B. Danny Morris won the second frame 94-22 to put C section leaders 38 points clear.
Colin Baggot then turned the match with a 81-23 win and Tom Berry saw the Duck Club home when he won the final frame. Huntley C managed to win at Bury Bridge with Paul Gill winning the last game with 80-41.
Seedfield B also turned league form on its head by beating Whitefield Snooker A 221-149, Steve Chant setting the Bowling Cub on the way with a 77-44 win.
Huntley A got the better of Seedfield A mainly thanks to Paul Jones who compiled a break of 37 in the final frame to help him on his way to 77-24 victory.
