TWO of the titles were decided in the Bury Snooker League this week with Elton Lib D topping the B Section and Walmersley claiming the C Section crown.
Elton Lib D needed a win in their final game away at Salisbury to take the title. Mark Rumens took the first for Elton (69-35) and when Brian Skelley won the third frame (77-37) they were all but there.
Salisbury fought back well to take the last two frames but could not prevent Elton taking the match.
Buchanans B had to ensure they at least matched Walmersley’s result to win C Section.
They claimed a 5-3 win at Whitefield BC, leaving Walmersley needing to win 7-2 at Heaton Park.
Paul Greenhalgh took the first 82-31 and his team-mates took the next three. Heaton took frame five to leave Dave Morley to see Walmersley home in style (89-45) including a 32 break.
In the A Section, Fishpool remain top going into the last week of the season as they just edged out Bury Snooker B 5-3.
