There were some very close results in the last 16 of the Arthur Dykes Cup. The match between Stanley Con and Bury Bridge was the closest, with Ian Bleakley from Bury Bridge taking the biggest aggregate win of the match which was only 27, managing to win the match by 7 in total.
Also, Bury Snooker B were host to Elton Lib B, where Elton got off to a great start with Sean Swimby winning 78-23. Then Bury B almost pulled the aggregate. back in the last three frames, with Paul McManus winning his frame 71-50. But it still left them 14 short in the match, giving Elton the win.
What looked to be the most exciting match of the night came at Tottington Con D, where Bury Snooker D raced ahead in the first two frames, thanks to Dale Jones and Ged Young. They were 92 in front and managed to hold on to win although Ian Martin made a brave effort, winning 100-49. This still left Totty 15 short on the night.
Radcliffe Central C beat Elton Lib C, going 45 up in the first frame due to the efforts of Ian Taylor. But the match was close up to the last frame, with Central Snooker winning by 22 on the night.
Tony Green had a great night for Central Snooker E, winning 104-24 in the third frame, leaving Seedfield A too much to do in the final frame. The biggest aggregate. win of the night went to Huntley C who beat Elton Lib D 244-154, putting in a solid effort winning all four frames.
Walmersley Con also put in a strong performance, winning three frames and only losing the first frames on a black ball game. Results
