BURY Snooker Club maintained their unbeaten run in the Bury Billiards League with a 4-1 win over Walshaw Con Club B, but their lead has been reduced to just two points as nearest rivals, Dobbies S&SC A and Elton Liberal Club A, took all the points from their respective matches.
Tottington Con Club also moved up the table after defeating Norman’s Snooker Club 4-1 and Prestwich Con Club were also on target to join them until Matt Gilmore stepped in for Walshaw Con Club A to snatch the final game (125-22) and aggregate points to win 3-2. Gilmore’s game included a break of 52, but it was later reduced to 33 unfinished after he miscalculated how many points he needed to win.
At the other end of the table, Elton Liberal Club B moved off the bottom following their first league win of the season by defeating Walmersley Con Club.
After this week, the handicaps of many of the new players have been reviewed, other competitors’ handicaps will remain unchanged until the second half of the season. Full details will be published on the website www.burybilliards.co.uk
