MOSELEY 32, SEDGLEY PARK 25 National League Division One:
LEADING 5-22 at half-time, Sedgley were in command, but a Moseley try just prior to the break and two more within 10 minutes of the re-start turned the game, with Sedgley again losing a game they should have won.
Sedgley started well and on eight minutes they stole line-out ball on the Moseley 22 and Phil Jones wrong-footed two defenders before firing a pass along the line to Andy Craig, who went over by the right flag. Jones' superb touchline conversion gave the Tigers a 0-7 lead.
Three minutes later he kicked a penalty five metres inside his own half to extend the Tigers' lead.
The first setback of the afternoon occurred on 14 minutes when Jaco Swart turned awkwardly, driving the ball into contact, dislocating his ankle and breaking his leg.
Shrugging off the loss, Sedgley immediately made the most of the man advantage after Moseley centre Paul Cox was yellow-carded.
Ten metres from the home line, Sedgley elected to take the scrum. The ball was won and Jones himself went over in the right corner to make it 0-15 to the visitors after 28 minutes.
Then, from a scrum on the Moseley 10-metre line, the ball was fed to Craig, who ran the angle, cutting through the Moseley cover before his beautifully timed inside pass to Chris Wilkinson sent the Tigers' fullback on his way to the home posts to give Jones the simplest of two pointers At 0-22 down and with just nine minutes of the half left, it was Moseley's turn to make the extra man count when Mark Jones was sin binned, and chaser Daren O'Leary caught an up-n'-under before sprinting to the Tigers' try line to make it 5-22 at the turn-around.
Within two minutes of the re-start Moseley number eight, James Rodwell, barged his way over, with Ollie Thomas converting.
The home side were then handed the man advantage again on 47 minutes when Andy Craig was sin-binned and Thomas kicked the resulting penalty.
Gaining possession from the re-start Moseley fired the ball along their backline and centre, Carl Colvin, went over in the right corner, with Thomas' conversion making it 22-22 with 49 minutes gone.
Sedgley were just beginning to re-group when at a 58th minute lineout, one of the Moseley jumpers was taken out in-flight, and referee Tim Beddows red-carded Tiger Ed Norris, reducing Sedgley to 14 men for the duration of the game.
Despite that, the Sedgley forwards stepped up a gear and sustained effort was rewarded with a penalty on the home 22 and Jones stepped up to put the Tigers back into the lead with just six minutes left on the clock.
Unfortunately a minute from time, Sedgley coughed the ball up and Moseley centre Cox went over by the corner flag. Thomas' successful drop goal five minutes into time added on then signalled the last action of the game.
On Saturday the Tigers return to Park Lane to welcome current league leaders, Earth Titans.
