CHRIS Brass has told the club's young players to keep hold of the enjoyment factor' for as long as they can.
Shakers starlets Richie Baker, Andy Parrish, David Buchanan and Nicky Adams have been one of the driving forces behind their side's run of form in recent weeks.
Their displays have certainly attracted attention, but Brass has warned that the grass is not necessarily greener on the other side for every young player.
Speaking to a fans form at the Social Club last week, he said: "I tell the younger players the truth. When I was at Burnley, aged 21 or 22, Southampton came in for me, but after talking to the likes of Adrian Heath and Alan Harper - they made me realise that the best thing to do at that stage of my career was to stay put.
"I didn't feel ready for it, and I feel I probably progressed more in my career than going and getting swallowed up in Southampton's reserves.
"Young lads like Richie Baker are bouncing into training in the morning. The enjoyment factor is there.
"They learn from the older players, like myself and Colin Woodthorpe, and when the time comes, they will know.
"If you look at Dave Nugent - he is virtually taking Preston into the Premiership single-handed. The young players here can take this club forward in the same way."
Bury director Ian Mills also revealed at the meeting that the Shakers stand to make £75,000 if Preston are promoted to the Premiership because of sell-on clauses inserted into the sales of Nugent and midfielder Simon Whaley last season.
The fee is reduced to £50,000 if they only make the play-offs.
