Southend United have reportedly renewed their interest in Cameron Belford.

While Bury have denied that any approach has been made about the 23-year-old goalkeeper, who ended last season on loan at Roots Hall, reports in the local press suggest that the League Two side are preparing to come back in for him.

Belford is still under contract with Bury, but the Shakers may be tempted to release him on a free transfer to free up space on their wage budget after recently signing Trevor Carson as their number one shot stopper.

And after keeping eight clean sheets in 15 games while with Blues last season, Belford is thought to be keen on making a permanent return to the Essex club.
