WHILE Bury supporters flocked to social networking sites to express their outrage at the Rangers owners’ reported plans to take over the club, there was a similar reaction north of the border.

Financial meltdown, unpaid tax bills, administration and finally liquidation have brought the once proud Old Firm club to its knees.

Yet it’s great to see that the Glasgow club’s supporters would not wish to see another historic old team like Bury sacrificed to secure their side’s survival. And Rangers fan Diane Clarkson was eager to send a clear message of support to the Shakers faithful.

“Please be advised that we, as Rangers fans, would NOT agree with this and believe it’s morally wrong,” said Clarkson of reports linking Rangers with a bid to buy Bury take up their fixtures in the Football League.

“We would not like another club with a great history to suffer what we as fans are currently going through. It’s ridiculous that this has been suggested.”
