BRADSHAW A juniors are hard on the heels of Holcombe Brook A, champions of the BSF Tennis League Division One for the last three years.

The Bolton club went level with the Brook at the top after crushing David Lloyd Manchester, who were weakened by the absence of key girl players.

The other game in this division saw Holcombe Brook B upset the form book with a 7.5-4.5 win over Bellingham A. Eleanor Kelly and Megan Ingham were in commanding form winning all their sets, while Michael Birch managed the same feat for the losers.

In Division Two, Walmer went down 7-5 for the third time in the campaign, this time to David Lloyd (Chorley). The result was a carbon copy of their earlier meeting with the mixed sets being halved, the Chorley outfit winning all the boys’ sets and managing to squeeze one win in the girls’ sets as Hattie Morley was on song for Walmer.

Holcombe Brook C were beaten by close Division Three rivals Leigh CC with Vienna Simic and Ashleigh Meek producing the Brook’s best results.

Division Four leaders, Holcombe Brook D, had a comfortable win away to Roe Green, despite the heroics of Laura Crompton who won all her sets for the home side.

Meanwhile, Hawkshaw B had no answer to the St Joseph B boys Jacob Makinson and Sam Walsh.
