BURY ABC boxer Muhammad Ali enjoyed a successful trip to the continent at the weekend, helping England’s junior boxing side to a 4-4 draw in France.
The 16-year-old won his bout of the England v France international match, comfortably beating Trenel Aymeric 16-5 in the 48k division.
He will now join fellow Bury ABC boxer Zahir Iqbal in the England squad for the European Junior Championships in Bulgaria, which run from June 23 to July 1.
Elsewhere, 17-year-old Bury ABC fighter Joe Rowe beat J Lloyd, of Anfield ABC, by a unanimous decision in the 64k division at a boxing show in Bootle on Friday.
