Walshaw let slip a lead as they went down 2-1 at Old Alts in the Manchester League Premier Division.
Producing a much-improved performance, the Sycamore Road men bossed the game and deservedly went ahead on 42 minutes when Mike Downing headed home Luke Chapman’s free kick.
They conceded an equaliser just before the break from a poorly defended corner, and Alts won the game with a 25-yard rocket early in the second half.
Walshaw pushed for the leveller but paid for lacking a killer instinct in front goal.
