CHRIS Casper is looking to tie up a deal with former Stockport County midfielder Mickael Wolski.

The athletic Frenchman, who has impressed the Bury boss during a two-week trial spell, could be ready to sign a short-term deal similar to that offered to Daryl Taylor last week.

Wolski, aged 27, was released at Edgeley Park after a summer cleanout at the cash-strapped club.

He made 24 appearances for Stockport last term and has also played in the Scottish Premier League with Kilmarnock and had spells with French clubs Boulogne and Ajaccio.

Standing well above six feet tall - the muscular Wolski can also play centre half, and Casper admits he would be interested in adding his name to the squad if finances will allow.

"He's a fantastic athlete and a good lad. he has done really well in training," he said. "We'll have to see what we can offer him because we have got budgets to stick to, but we are happy with how he has done."

Casper has hinted that he is prepared to name the same side for a third week running against Torquay on Saturday, after witnessing a complete change in fortune at Gigg Lane.

Including the Carling Cup victory over Sunderland, Bury have gone three games unbeaten and could move into the top half of the table with victory over the Gulls.

"I have noticed a massive difference in training. The tempo is much higher and there is a real determination which mirrored the end of last season," said Casper.

"For some reason we didn't get the start of this season fitted into our minds properly, there was some type of hangover.

"But now there is a marked improvement in the squad."
