NORTHERN Fours League leaders Bury Comets caught their rivals Stockport on a bad day to win at a canter with 52 points from their 16 heats.
Heckmondwike were the surprise package in second place on 37, Stockport were third with 36 followed by Hull on 33.
Chris Parish was in superb form with three wins and a second to claim 15 points while the other four Bury riders shared the rides between them. Neil Howarth scored 11, Paul Dayson 10, Luke Jamson nine and Chris Dyson nine, from three rides each. In the accompanying Junior League Under-13 group, James Elston scored 14 and newcomer Sam Vaughan seven.
Will Owens scored an impressive 11 in the u16s group with Ryan Livesey returning from injury, scoring eight and Jamie Chester four.
In the combination section, Bury’s Polish rider David Renc was unbeaten for a 16-point maximum from his four rides.
Meanwhile, Elston will represent the Bury club when he competes in the British U13s Individual championships at East Newport.
