Northern Thunder prepared for their play-off clash with Hertfordshire Mavericks with a comfortable 56-32 win over Glasgow Wildcats in the final game of the regular FIAT Netball Superleague season.
The Thunder treatment room has been getting rather crowded and, with Karen Greig having ruled out of any further action this season, the last thing the Bury-based outfit needed was an another injury.
But that has what happened when Lynsey Armitage went down just before half time and was unable to continue.
But Kathryn Turner and young Alexa Collier took on the shooting duties and did themselves proud.
Thunder are still in with a shot of the title and mid-court player Jade Clarke was happy with the display. She said: “Having already secured our play-off place we were given license to try new things which we really enjoyed. It was great to get a run out ahead of our big game.”
