GREENMOUNT tennis sisters, 11-year-old Olivia and nine-year-old Alexis Peet, have picked up their first prize winnings.

Olivia earned a £15 gift voucher when she won the Wirral Open Girls 12s and under singles while Alexis, playing in her first 10s and under tournament, was runner-up in the 10U singles and collected a £10 voucher.

Olivia, who has enjoyed a good run of tournament success over the winter, is now ranked in the country’s top 20 for players aged 11 and under, and was the only Lancashire girl to take part in the Lawn Tennis Association’s National Talent ID day that was held at the Bolton Arena this week.

Alexis attended the national Under-9s Masters at the National Tennis Centre, Roehampton, in March, when she was seventh out of 16 and followed that up by accepting an invitation to the National Talent ID day in Nottingham in April, where she again proved to be one of the best players in the country for her age group.

Chris Peet, father of the girls who attend Greenmount Primary School, was at Roehampton earlier this week assessing the under-11s and under-12s from the south.
