ALAN Knill quit Bury today to take the vacant manager’s role at Championship strugglers Scunthorpe United.
Former Oldham Athletic, Crystal Palace, Charlton, Coventry City, QPR and Hull City manager, Iain Dowie, is expected to take over at Gigg Lane.
Knill’s departure after three seasons with the Shakers was confirmed following the conclusion of talks between the clubs.
Knill leaves the Shakers fourth in League Two, just one point outside the automatic play-off places.
