Tottington D booked their place in the next round of the John Spencer Trophy with victory over Huntley B.
The home team showed their A Section class in the first frame when veteran Paul Taylor won on the pink after giving a 56-point start. Huntley came back in a hard-fought second frame thanks to K Martin, who again won on the pink.
But wins for Steve Ryan and Pete Wilding ensured progress for Tottington.
The Pairs competition pitched Elton Lib D against Seedfield A.
In a closely-fought match, Seedfield took the advantage in the first frame – D Morgan and D Gallagher winning by 29 points.
Elton came back strongly and won the second frame by 16, leaving them still 13 points behind going in to the final frame.
Despite a valiant effort from Mark Trueman and S King, they could not make up the deficit and Seedfield won the tie on the black despite losing the frame by one point.
In the Arthur Dyke competition, Bury Snooker D were at home to Salisbury B.
Despite Ged Young and Andy Aitken winning for the hosts, it was the well-fancied visitors who won the tie thanks to M Burke, M Campbell and J Smith.
Despite giving starts in all their frames against Salisbury B, Tottington D won all four frames and the aggregate by 36 points in a good solid all-round performance.
All players involved in the singles knockout competitions should note that all matches must be played by the end of the month.
