A MIKE Norton double ensured FC United made the perfect start to the new Evo-Stik Premier Division campaign with a 2-0 victory against nine-man Marine.
The Rebels new signing took just 15 minutes to open his account from the penalty spot after Ben Deegan had been brought down in the area.
Striker Norton wrapped up the points nine minutes after the restart before Marine had two players sent off as tempers flared towards the end.
FC, who took on Nantwich Town last night, face Retford United at Gigg Lane on Saturday and travel to Ashton United on Bank Holiday Monday.
