POPULAR midfielder Dave Flitcroft took the top award when Forever Bury supporters' trust held their annual Player of the Year awards evening at the Bury FC Social Club, Gigg Lane last night.
Flicker' was voted Player of the Year by the fans for his wholehearted and consistent displays in the Shakers' engine room this season, seeing off the challenge of defender Paul Scott who was runner-up.
The event, sponsored by the Bury Times, featured a host of other awards and Scotty' didn't go home empty-handed as he took the prestigious Players' Player of the Season accolade, voted for by his teammates.
He also picked up the Billy Ayre Memorial Website Player of the Year award decided by users of the club's official internet site.
The Website Goal of the Season was Flitcroft's superb, and crucial, long range effort against Darlington three weeks ago.
Manager Chris Casper had the pick for the two awards for junior players with Dave Buchanan getting the nod in the Young Player of the Year category after making the breakthrough into the first team this season.
Meanwhile the Most Promising Young Player prize went to striker and second year scholar David Worrall.
