RAMSBOTTOM United manager Lee Sculpher is challenging his side to build on two consecutive 1-1 draws in this week's double header with Formby and Glossop North End.
The Rams got their season back on track with two respectable performances, but did manage to throw a lead away in the 85th minute in Monday night's clash at Glossop.
Player-boss Lee Sculpher said: "Our performances were back to normal and we played quite well over the two games last week.
"I was pleased with the draw on Saturday against a team going for the title (Alsager Town), but was disappointed we couldn't hold onto our lead on Monday night (against Glossop).
"I think that goal could have been avoided and we seem to be making a habit of shooting ourselves in the foot. Without sounding too harsh, there are players who have some bad habits from previous clubs. It's not one individual though, and we are working on eradicating these problems.
"Some of the players have to realise that they must keep hold of a lead when they get their noses in front. If that means sacrificing some football, so be it. If we have to clear our lines for long periods, so be it. You just do whatever it takes to hold on for a win.
"For example, the conditions on Monday wouldn't allow us to play nice football, so you have to rise above it."
Looking ahead to tomorrow's trip to Formby, Sculpher added: "You look at the table and would have to say you'd expect us to win.
"However, we have dropped points against a few of the struggling sides already this season and that is why we are where we are in the league.
"If we had won some of them games, we might have been three or four places higher in the league and looking at the play-offs.
"However, two victories in the next week will make last week's two draws look good."
Lee Cryer is ruled out at the weekend with a groin strain, but Adam Cook and Danny Hartley should be fit after their own injury problems.
On the transfer front, Sculpher has admitted his eyes are fixed more on next season now.
"The transfer deadline is in a fortnight and, although I'm always looking at bringing in a fresh face, I'm already planning for next season.
"What pleased me about this week, is the fact I could field the same starting line-up for two games in succession. If I could do that more often, who knows what we could achieve?"
