THERE's another big double-header for the Shakers this week with Saturday's trip to promotion-chasing Grimsby Town quickly followed by a home game against fellow strugglers Oxford United at Gigg Lane on Tuesday night (7.45pm).

Bury could consider themselves very unlucky not to have taken at least a point when the Mariners visited Gigg Lane over Christmas.

They squandered a one goal lead to lose 2-1 but Casper reckons there is plenty to be positive about ahead of the trip to Humberside.

"We could have sewn the home game against them up in the first half on Boxing Day," he added.

"Danny Reet missed one or two chances in the second half then they hit us on the break.

"We'll go into Saturday's game positively, and so we should after last weekend's draw at Wrexham.

"Sooner or later things will start going our way, either dropping for us in the box or getting one or two decisions going our way.

"There were a lot of positives to be taken from the game and we should soon start picking up our rewards."

Wednesday's reserve game against Chester City had to be postponed because of a waterlogged pitch and that was a blow for both full-back Tom Kennedy and striker Jon Newby who were both pencilled in to play their first games following injuries.

Nevertheless, Kennedy is expected to go straight into the squad on Saturday.

Tuesday night's opponents have responded to dropping to within a point of the drop zone by sacking manager Brian Talbot.

The reins at the Kassam Stadium have been temporarily taken over by youth team coach Darren Patterson.
