JUST one week after the 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth, and things are already looking brighter for the mighty Shakers.

Bury secured six points on their away travels after two impressive performances.

The first of these timely wins came at Darlington. The 25,000 seater Northern Echo arena, home to the Quakers, has proved to be a difficult place for the Shakers over the past few seasons. Thankfully, not this time however.

Loan striker Jordan Robertson scored on his debut after a fine assist from fellow loanee David Worrall. The Sheffield United striker made no mistake with his header and buried it into the net to give the Shakers a one-goal lead. Despite some nerve-racking final minutes, which included a fine penalty save from keeper Wayne Brown, the Shakers' defence held firm and sealed Bury’s first three points of the season.

Another three points were promptly secured at the home of Hereford United.

A stuttering first half performance saw the scoreline remain even at half-time.

Though if the first period saw a keenly contested battle, there was only ever one team in the second half. A Ryan Lowe brace secured Bury a 3-1 win and a further three points.

Shades of last season’s majestic, flowing passing moves were seen, many of which involved David Worrall, who is fast becoming a crowd favourite.

Accomplished performances from all of Knill’s available striking options have not only banished memories of the opening day blues, but also given the manager a selection headache, albeit a pleasant one.

Many clubs in League Two would love to have just one of Morrell, Rouse, Robertson, Lowe or Bishop, but Knill has the luxury of all five.

It is this embarrassment of striking riches that has invigorated fans. Who will play? Is Lowe guaranteed a place? Is anyone guaranteed a place?

Fans will just have to wait until 3pm tomorrow to find out.
