CRICKET: Bury Under-11s are out of the Lancashire Schools’ Bob Hurst Rosebowl after going down by 47 runs to South Ribble in their quarter-final clash at Bury. The local juniors failed to keep the visiting batsmen at bay as South Ribble piled on the runs, setting a first innings target of 172-4 after 40 overs. Bury struggled at the crease in their reply with Dominic Morris (30) the only scorer of any note. Matthew Burdaky (18), Josh Scully (15) and Dominic Humphries (14 not out) all chipped in but their efforts were nowhere near enough as Bury slumped to 125-9 in their reply. South Ribble will now travel to West Lancashire in the semi-final.
