Former Bury ABC boxers Ibrahim ‘Ibby’ Nadim and Abdul Khan returned to reunite with former coaches Mick Jelley and Colin Carr recently.

Khan, the cousin of Bolton superstar Amir who also trained under Jelley at Bury ABC, was fresh from winning the Commonwealth Silver Super Featherweight championship belt earlier this month.

His recent points victory in Liverpool against home fighter John Edwardson extended his unblemished professional record to 12 wins from 12 outings.

Yorkshire native Nadim also had a belt in tow after his 13th win from 14 pro fights on November 16 saw him win the vacant British Boxing Board of Control Central Area Super Featherweight belt against Chester’s Adam Rasool on points at Manchester’s Bowlers Exhibition Centre.

The boxers watched young fighters sparring at the gym as part of their visit as Jelley, who also trained Bury’s former ring star, Scott Quigg, and Carr put the next generation through their paces.
