There was a winning performance from a Bury AC athlete in the Radcliffe AC Thirteen Arches Half Marathon Trail Race on Saturday.
Abigail Warburton ran a brilliant race to not only win the women’s event, but place fourth overall.
She crossed the line in 1hr 28mins 43secs, nearly six minutes clear of the runner-up.
The club had two other finishers - Jon Evans, who crossed the line in 1:42:19, and Alex Leach, who completed the course in 1:46:56.
Much further afield, Luke Matthews travelled to the USA to compete in the prestigious New York City Marathon on Sunday.
In unseasonably high temperatures for the event, Matthews covered the course in a very respectable 3:49:05.
The previous weekend, Ben Coop competed in the extremely tough Eryri Marathon on the mountainous roads around Mount Snowdon.
He was delighted with his fifth place in a superb time of 2:43:06.
In what was overall a relatively quiet weekend of competition, several members used the 5k parkrun at Heaton Park as a test of their fitness.
Martin Clark ran out as a comfortable winner in 16:39, while Conor Wilkinson placed fourth in 17:26 - just 10 seconds outside his best for the course.
Byron Edwards took ninth in 18:10, with Paul Johnston 12th in 18:17. Alia Braithwaite was first woman finisher with 18:52.
