Ryan Hutchinson has been appointed Prestwich Heys' new first team manager.

Hutchinson is no stranger to Adie Moran Park having been part of the coaching team and then assistant manager to Jon Lyons between 2017 and 2019. This was a spell that included Heys winning their first and so far, only honour at semi-professional level, the NW Counties League First Division North Trophy.

Joining Heys from Irlam, Hutchinson has been a feature on NW Counties league touchlines for the past decade and possesses a wealth of experience and contacts at all levels of the game from senior level and down to his role in the development of Irlam’s impressive youth system.

As a player, he started his football career at Manchester United as a schoolboy, spending three years there before moving onto Stoke City where he spent three years doing a scholarship and two years as a professional. After that he had spells at Altrincham, Chorley and Salford City before finishing his playing career at Irlam FC.

After hanging up his boots he then moved into management at Irlam Steel, playing in the Cheshire League, winning the title in his first season while going undefeated all year.

Joining Ryan at Heys will be Chris Lowe and Luke Seisay as assistant managers, Jamie Young as analysis/coach and Daniel Gadsby as a coach.

On his appointment Hutchinson said: “We are all excited and can’t wait to get going. I am grateful to Joffy and all the committee at Prestwich for giving us this opportunity.

"It’s good to be back and I am looking forward to seeing some old faces again. Prestwich is an unbelievable club; we know it’s a tough job, but we are delighted to be here.”
