Radcliffe Athletics Club members took on Ramsbottom Running Club’s annual summer mile last week.
Covering the classic distance of 1,609 metres, and set entirely in the stunning location of Nuttall Park, the flat, fast, out-and-back course saw 41 athletes take part on Tuesday evening for the seventh in the Central Lancashire Grand Prix. First in for RAC was Gary Adkins (MV40) in a time of 5mins 14.1secs, closely followed by new kid on the block, Khama Banda (MSEN), in 5:15.88.

Also in action in the 1k fun run were RAC juniors Benji, George, Grace, Heidi, Isaac, Oliver, Siena and Skyler.
On Wednesday, Benji and Seth from the junior section travelled over to Bramhall to compete in the third and final Foodbank Trail Race Series. The 2k fun run saw Seth finishing fourth boy in a super 9:27, with Benji completing the distance in 12:53. For Benji, this was part of his ongoing mission to ‘give back’ with his family bashing balsam in with the Friends of Outwood Park, gardening with the Incredible Edibles and now supporting Stockport Foodbank.
