Prestwich Heys continued their pre- season preparations with a 1-1 draw with Droylsden last Saturday.
In a hard-fought game both teams had chances to win the game.
Heys looked solid defensively and did have some moments of promise but lacked a cutting edge in attack.
However, on 25 minutes they took the lead. From a corner by Erike Sousa, the ball was allowed to bounce and flew into the net off a wrong-footed visiting defender.
The visitors responded strongly, and a superb double save by Heys keeper Louis Hood kept out Droylsden. On the stroke of half time the away team equalised as good play by the always dangerous Fuad Kasali down the right ended with a low cross for Cory Knight to tap home.
Droylsden maintained their momentum on the restart and Hood pulled off another smart save. As Heys made changes the introduction of Kayle Power and Kade Hargreaves gave them more momentum.
In the closing stages either side could have won it as Hood saved from Kasali before with virtually the last kick of the game a last-ditch tackle prevented the winner for Heys.
The previous Thursday, Dylan Fitzgerald maintained his impressive pre-season form as Heys beat Atherton Collieries 2-0 at Adie Moran Park.
Heys took the lead on the half hour through Fitzgerald who swept home and the hosts hit the bar twice after the break.
They wrapped up victory with the last kick of the game as Colls failed to clear a corner and the ball was drilled in at the near post by Shay Stansfield.
Heys wrap up their pre-season preparations at home to Curzon Ashton on Saturday (3pm).
