Lancashire Spinners basketballers, Tassimy Cassinda and Isabel Lewis, were invited to attend the England Talent Camp for under-14 Girls at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester last weekend.
The girls were part of a 19-strong squad bidding for selection for a range of England tournaments and games this summer.
Tassimy, of Parrenthorn High School, Whitefield, and Isabel, of St Monica’s High School, in Prestwich, both play for the Spinners U14 girls team based at Elton High School.
Their team played in the National U14 Premier League North, finishing third and reaching the quarter-finals of the play-offs before losing at Kingston Lions.
Spinners coach, Nick Ibberson, said “We are very proud of Tas and Izzy, who have worked extremely hard to achieve selection to this elite group. Both have represented the North of England previously.”
