JOE Denman is Bury AFC’s latest signing as boss Andy Welsh builds his squad for an assault on the NWCL Premier Division.
Following the arrival of striker Niall Cummins to bolster attacking options, centre back Denman will give Welsh extra cover in defence.
The 24-year-old played and scored against AFC for Trafford in the Manchester Premier Cup tie back in January.
He has also played for Warrington Rylands and Wythenshawe Amateurs and has Northern Premier League experience.
Welsh is delighted to get another signing in through the door as they prepare for their first pre-season game at Stockport County on Saturday, July 2. He said: “We are impressed with Joe’s attributes, physicality in defence but also great feet and range of passing which suits the way we play.
“Delighted to get another player who’s played at a higher level in, the staff are looking forward to working with him.”
Meanwhile, Adam McWilliam and Liam MacDevitt are the latest players to commit to the club for another season.
