GREENMOUNT got off to a winning start in the Lancashire Cricket League Division One with a 147-run win against near neighbours Ramsbottom.
Batting first, Greenmount made 287-7 from their 50 overs with Andrew Kerr (63), Lewis Dove (60 not out) and Chesney Hughes (51) all hitting half-centuries, Daniel Pyke the pick of the Rammy bowlers with 4-72.
Professional Hughes then took 5-44 and Dove 3-46 and Ramsbottom were bowled out for 140.
In the Greater Manchester Cricket League Premier Division, Prestwich beat Roe Green by 128 runs.
Dan Pawson top scored with 64 as the hosts scored 278-9. Justin Kenyon retired hurt for Roe Green as they ended on 150-9 with Prestwich sub-pro Geeth Kumara taking 6-37.
Woodbank won by 122 runs at Astley and Tyldesley with William Turner (58) and Gavin Nicholl (53) hitting half-centuries as they scored 269-7.
In reply, hosts A&T were bowled out for 147, Woodbank’s Ryan Barker taking 5-32.
Walshaw lost by 14 runs against Denton St Lawrence after scoring 217-8 in the second innings, Saif Bhojani top scoring with 82.
DSL had scored 231 with Shabnan Ali taking 5-56 for Walshaw.
In Premier Division Two, Brooksbottom lost by six wickets at Flowery Field.
Mohsan Iqbal hit 50 as the visitors reached 167 batting first but the hosts reached 168-4 in just over 33 overs.
Bury lost at Shaw by a narrow margin of nine runs after Damario Goodman (4-51) had been the pick as the hosts totalled 262-6.
Bury reached 253 in reply, Dominic Morris (46) and Gary Garner (44) to top scorers.
Stand were all out for just 100 in a 39-run defeat at Heaton.
Adam McGladdery took 4-33 as the hosts were all out for 139 but Dylan Faram (54) was one of only two batsmen to reach double figures in the reply.
In the Championship, Elton won by six wickets at home to Monton.
After Monton made 195-6, professional Asif Zakir was unbeaten on 82 as Elton made197-4.
In Division One, Edenfield lost by 88 runs against Saddleworth.
Dan Jenkins (3-50) and Zane Gelsi (3-49) were the pick of the bowlers as Saddleworth scored 192-6 before Edenfield reached 104-9.
In Division Two A, Prestwich seconds lost by 76 runs against Darcy Lever, while East Lancs Paper Mill lost by 155 runs against Tottington St John’s.
Niko brooky scored a superb 146 for Tottington as they reached 290-9, Ryan Wilkes taking 4-77 for ELPM.
In reply, Brooky took 4-36 as ELPM were all out for 135.
Radcliffe won by six wickets against Astley and Tyldesley seconds.
Usama Ahmed took 5-41 for Radcliffe as A&T were all out for 134.
Shazaib Mazhar was unbeaten on 68 as Radcliffe reached 137-4.
