Radcliffe Athletic Club’s Craig Norman finished fifth in the Overload obstacle and mud run in Derbyshire.
He raced in the elite championship wave of the tough 10k course which is packed with 40 obstacles.
Despite struggling at times, the accomplished obstacle racer finished in 1:14:00.
Elsewhere, there was a good turnout from club members at the popular 5k parkruns.
Vince Ashton notched up his 99th parkrun location when he clocked 29:10 at Birkenhead while Craig Ward ran 26:46 at Keswick.
Jenny Yates was the third woman in a new parkrun personal best of 20:41 at Stretford and there was a 5k PB for Jen Entwistle who ran 26:36 up at the Morecambe parkrun.
Closer to home, Sheila Jones was first FV65 in 23:46 at Heaton parkrun ahead of Steve Hamer in 25:51, Peter Hunter 25:50, Helen Sandiford 30:52, Elaine Bailey 31:13 and Charles Whalley 46:45.
Mark Williams and Kath Davies ran 25:05 and 27:14 respectively at Bolton parkrun.
Stephen Crowe was the club’s first finisher at Worsley Woods parkrun in 26:12.
Caroline Malone ran 27:52, Alison Howarth 30:39, Bev Quinton 37:06, Tracy Wroe 37:07, Iain Harris 37:09.
