SHAKERS favourite Ryan Lowe is being tipped to return to one of his other former clubs Sheffield Wednesday as their new manager.
The Owls are on the hunt for a new boss after sacking Garry Monk and Lowe’s odds have shortened with bookmakers.
The Plymouth Argyle manager is the 2/1 favourite with Sky Bet, ahead of Tony Pulis at 11/4 and Nigel Pearson and Paul Cook, both 5/1.
Lowe has enjoyed back-to-back promotions out of League Two, defying mounting financial problems at Gigg Lane before also getting Argyle out of the fourth tier last season in a campaign curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic.
The 42-year-old has this season guided Plymouth to eighth in early the League One table, just outside the play-off places.
The former striker ended his first Shakers spell in 2011 to move to Hillsborough, scoring nine goals in 30 appearances in a single season before moving onto MK Dons.
Lowe would have two further spells as a Bury player before enjoying great success in his first managerial job, only leaving as the club’s financial issues became to much of an obstacle.
His reputation has continued to grow during his near 18 months at Home Park.
